Easter Sunday

Sorry it's taken awhile to post pictures, but I'm still trying to catch up on some house cleaning, and laundry.

It's Easter morning and I am wide awake. I look over at the clock and it is 4 a.m.! I cannot go back to sleep! Brandon and I just lay in bed and I'm like you have got to be kidding me. I'm wide awake so I decide I might as well shower. So I shower and I call my mom back home and they are on their way to pick up the kids from Brandon's parent's house. I told my mom to get the kids on Easter so they can spend some time with my family. After hanging out in our room for a bit we go out and Tobey and Silene are gone so Brandon and I decide to walk around the grounds of the timeshare. As we head towards the pool Tobey and Silene come walking up and told us they went for a walk because they also got up early and couldn't go back to sleep. We head back in and Brandon makes breakfast for us; eggs, sausage, and toast. We eat and we have 2 hours to kill before church. We get all dressed up for church and head down to get a complimentary breakfast that the timeshare was offering for Easter Sunday and they were also going to talk about what to do on the Island. Tobey and Silene ask questions about the Volcano and how to get there. We go to church and come back to change. We hop in the car and we are driving on the other side of the Island, which is the Hilo side. The Hilo side is a completely different than the Kona side, temperature wise. The Hilo side was cold, breezy, and rainy. It was so green on that side and it looked more farmish like. There were horses, cows, goats on that side. It was a very long drive and we finally stopped to see the Akaka Falls. They were gorgeous. Tobey and Brandon threw rocks at the falls to see where their rock would hit. After that we drove and saw Rainbow falls. It started to rain but it was more like a mist. We didn't get drenched, but I got bit by mosquitoes. After seeing the falls and eating lunch we headed towards the volcano, but we couldn't go past the gates because they opened at 5 p.m. and it was only 4 p.m. We had to kill an hour. We got out and talked to some vendors that were there. Silene and I ended up talking to this really cool old guy that takes his boat out and takes pictures of the volcano. He had some really neat pictures and he was only selling them for $1.00 each. I bought 5 of them. The volcano looks pretty neat when it's dark because then you can probably see the lava. All we saw was the plume of smoke that it was shooting out. I will have to scan my pictures I bought from this guy so you can see what the volcano's lava. We had to walk along this trail to get to the volcano but it wasn't like we were super close. It was so cold. It was raining and the wind was blowing. We got back to Kona pretty late and it was just amazing how much warmer it felt when we got out of the Hilo side. Kona didn't even look like it rained at all that day, and it was a lot warmer. After hitting the hot tub we went to bed to get ready for a day of snorkeling on Monday.
