Godfrey Family Reuinon

On Saturday we headed up to Samaria, Idaho (by Malad) for the annual Godfrey Reunion. Every June the Godfrey's have a reunion and each of the siblings take a year to plan some kind of get together. This year it was at the Price's in Idaho. They had a camp out Friday night in their backyard and then Saturday they had a breakfast, went to learn about their ancestors, headed back for some food and fun. We didn't do the camp out on Friday because as Brandon says I was being a sourpuss. I wasn't sure how Brock would have done and plus he woke up at his parent's house at 4 am and didn't go back to sleep til 6 a.m. Imagine if he would have done that camping. Everyone would have heard him cry and me telling him to go back to sleep. We should have just tried but maybe next time. I had to do a long run that morning so I got up and ran 6 miles and hurried and showered and headed up to Idaho. It' always good to visit the Prices and see all of Brandon's cousin. My girls love going there cause sometimes they get to ride a horse but they just love to run and play around with what they've got their. When it was time to head out and learn about their ancestors Brock was getting very cranky so we decided to drive around so he could go to sleep. He took a 45 min. nap and he was done. Well, actually we stopped driving and then he woke up. After lunch we played the shopping game, which is a lot of fun, and then we sat and talked and played water balloon volleyball. The girls had tonz of fun and so did me and Brandon. My girls played so good with Brittney's kids (Brandon's cousin), whom they've never met. They had tonz of fun playing on the swings and running around. Family reunions are so fun and I love how we get to catch up on what everyone is doing. Thanks Lynette for a fun reunion!

Slacker

The other day Brandon mentioned to me that I don't blog as much anymore, and it's the truth. I would blog at least once or twice a week but now it's not as much. It was so much easier to blog when the girls where at school because I would hurry and post something while Brock was taking his morning nap. Now we get up a little later, eat breakfast, get kids ready, put Brock down (try), and hurry and clean. My day was a lot easier when I only 2 at home and tonz easier when I had one at home during school. Summer isn't like what it use to be anymore. There were always kids out playing at all times of the day. Now, I don't see kids out til late afternoon here. My girls are so bored and they are always wanting to play with someone but either they aren't home or they can't play. They really don't like to play with each other because that ends up in fights most of the time, and me yelling at them to STOP. I think they will be enjoying summer a lot more now that it has stopped raining so we can put up the slide, and plus we have a couple of trips planned for the summer. I am excited because I get to ship the kids off to grandma's house for a couple of days right before we head off to Island Park. It will be grand cause I can hopefully finish my quilt that I have been working on for 3 years! I know it's hard to find time to finish the darn thing.

Since I am blogging now I figure I will hurry and blog about what's been going on. Father's Day was last week and we decided to give Brandon his gifts early so we didn't have to haul it up north with us. I made him a Jazz blanket and the girls gave him a mug and plate that they decorated themselves. We also gave him a pack of gum, red vines, and some new flip flops. He enjoyed all the gifts that he received and we had a great time with him. We went up north on Friday night because it was Brandon's 10 year high school reunion in Logan. I have to admit it was a bit awkward because I knew no one, except for my cousin. We sat at a table with my cousin and his wife and there 2 other girls that Brandon could not remember for the life of him. It was good though cause they were telling funny stories. I having those 2 girls sitting at our table made it a little bit less awkward and one of the girls lives in Washington and has been on the twilight tour in Forks twice. I thought that was pretty cool. Brandon said he had fun and he plans on going to his 20 year reunion but for me I'm not sure if I want to go to my 10. I found out when it is and I've marked that I may go but not sure yet. It's just weird to see all these people that you went to high school with 10 years later.

Jazmin made the competition team so we are proud of her. She went up one level in her dance competition team so that's good. Mariah will try out next year if she doesn't complain about dance. The girls are in cheer and are loving it. They will be getting uniforms soon and they are excited for that because it comes with little pom poms.

I will try harder to blog more and stick more pictures up. I know for sure I will be posting more pictures up because of all the events we will be going to over the summer.

Runner Beware

I still have to post pictures and blog about last week but I thought I would share this quick little story about my morning run.

I am training for my 1/2 marathon and today is my running day. I have to run 4 miles today so I figure I would run this route because I have clocked it and it's 4 miles. As I am running this little black bird is chirping about me like crazy. It's on a fence post and it keeps chirping and moving along with me. I get to the top of a hill and I decided that I would cross the street and run on the other side of the street so I wouldn't bother this bird again. I am running and another black little bird is chirping and flying all around me. It's swooping down towards me as I am running. I am screaming and trying to run away from this stupid little bird. It doesn't leave me alone and I am afraid that it's going to peck me or something. I'm running away from it, screaming and trying to swoosh it away. I'm pretty sure that the cars that are driving by me are getting a kick as they see me running away from this bird that keeps diving towards me. I figure I would walk to see if it would leave me alone. I walk and the bird is gone. I go back to running and I'm mad because the stupid bird has messed my running up. I get to my subdivision entrance but I have to keep going cause I haven't reached 4 miles yet. I usually run to this church that is at the bottom of this hill but the city made a new road so I figured I would go down this road. I also didn't want to tell with anymore birds. I'm running and I get to the end of the road and lo and behold another black little bird is chirping at me and diving at me again! I'm screaming and cussing at this bird because this is now the 3rd bird that has done this to me on my run. I walk and the bird stops flying towards me. I look back and it's on the road just chirping away like it's yelling at me or something. I run every other day and this has never happened to me in the mornings ever! I have no clue if what I was wearing made the dumb little birds made or what. I was just afraid that these birds were going to peck me by the way they were flying towards me. I'm kind of afraid for Thursdays run to see what happens. It makes me want to take a sling shot and shot little rocks at these vicious little birds.

Everything all rolled up in one

It's been awhile since I've last posted anything and a lot has to do with me. I've been extremely tired, cranky, moody, you name and that's me. Plus my computer has been acting all weird on me too so it's been hard to post anything up.

First thing is first let's start off with the Mammoth Marathon up at Bear Lake last weekend. As you all know Silene and I ran the 10K last week and it went ok. It was really cold the night before and the forecast predict scattered thunderstorms on race day. I was a little worried because I really didn't want to run in the rain because I hate being cold! We went to bed late because Brock didn't go to bed till almost 11 p.m. and I woke up at 6 a.m. I was tired! I looked outside and it was gray and gloomy and it started to rain just a tad. Silene and I decided to wear our pajama bottoms because we thought it would be cold for our capris. We thought wrong and I will explain later why our decision wasn't the best. Brandon drives us to the end of the race so we can catch our bus to the start of the race. We get to the start of the race and warm up a bit and off we go. There was no bullhorn, no shotgun, people just started running. I have my running jacket on and I forgot to give Brandon my gloves and ear warmers so I stuff them in my pockets of my jacket. I ended up losing Silene because she got hot and took off her sweatshirt and had to rearrange everything. There's a light rain and the bottom of my pajamas are all wet. I was feeling good, not tired, no need to walk (I do not want to walk ever in a race!) and I see Brandon and hear my little cheerleader cheering me on. It was cute Jazmin and Mariah were cheering me on. As I get close to the finish line the lady tells me to unzip my jacket so they can see my number. When I was on the bus I decided to pin my number to my shirt because I thought I would take off my jacket. I never did because my pants were so wet that I was constantly pulling them up. So I'm nearing the end and I have to unzip to show my number. I do and I'm sprinting to the finish and my pants are seriously falling. I am holding them up while running so I'm pretty sure everyone got to see my underwear. I was kind of embarrassed. I finished the race in just over an hour. Little disappointed because I felt like I was running faster than that. That race wasn't very well organized.

I have been having a real hard time with Brock the last couple of days. He hasn't been sleeping in his crib so I would have to bring him in our bed and he would fall fast asleep. The minute I moved him back to his crib he would just scream. I wasn't sleeping the best and I was so tired and so cranky I didn't know what to do. Brandon and I decided something is wrong because he isn't sleeping, eating, losing weight, runny diapers, and very clingy. We decided that I needed to take him to the doctor. So I took him in on Monday and told him his symptoms. He told me it sounded like the flu and it should be over with my the end of the week. Ok. I told Brandon that I was going to give Brock some benadryl before bed time. So I put him down to bed and of course he starts crying the minute I lay him down. I wanted to cry because I didn't want him sleeping with us another night. The kid is everywhere when he is in bed with us and plus I didn't want to start that bad habit of him sleeping with us. As he is screaming I see a little white thing on the bottom of his mouth. Molars! He is getting his year old molars and he is in pain because of them. I run downstairs and get the Motrin. I give him his dose and he goes settles down and sleeps the whole night! He didn't wake up a bit! THANK GOODNESS! He is back to his sleeping pattern and he is a much happier baby. I felt like a bad mom because he had been in pain for 4 days or so with no pain relievers and this huge tooth is coming in. Next time I will check for molars if the same symptoms come when he gets his 2 year old molars. I went to bed at 9 p.m. and woke up at 7 a.m. the next day. I felt great! I wasn't tired and I wasn't grumpy. I just had to catch up to all the sleepless nights that I had going on.

I will have to get the bear lake pictures up. My computer is acting all wacked out so they will be coming soon.

I'm in

So I am for sure running the 1/2 marathon in Provo on Aug 8th. I registered yesterday afternoon. I'm a little nervous but I hopefully will be able to run all 13 miles. I know a lot huh. I have my 10K race this Saturday so I am ahead of schedule for training on a 1/2 marathon. I just need to stay motivated and continue to stay on my running schedule.

Pony Express Days

This past week my little town of Eagle Mountain had Pony Express Days. Every day for a week they have different activities to do, they have a carnival, and a parade. It's kind of like Peach Days, those of you who know what that is will know, but a bit smaller. There was a 5K race on Saturday morning and I was there. Runners had to be there between 6-6:30 a.m., buses arrived at 7, and the race was to start at 7:30 sharp. I arrived and it was so freakin cold! The last couple of days it here had been windy and rainy so I was a little nervous to see if the weather would cooperate during the race. I got my packet and waited inside my car until the buses arrived. Well the buses got lost so they were late. When they arrived we all hopped on and got bused to the start of the race. It wasn't a horrible race because it was downhill so I figure what the heck why not sign up. It was a little chilly at the start point and we had to wait for the last bus to get there but after they fog horn blew I was off. I knew that I would warm up while running so I'm glad that I left my light running jacket in my car. The race started late and I was a little worried that Brandon and the kids would be waiting for me to run by, but I don't think they waited to long. I ended up finishing the race in 26mins30secs. That's what the timer said as I crossed the finish line so I will get the official results in a couple of days. I was pretty proud of myself but I guess it didn't hurt that it was downhill so my time was a little faster than what I normally would run a 5K. After I was done I headed home, got Jazmin's hair down, showered and got Jazmin's dance costume on. She was in the parade and I had a friend come to pick her up so she could take her and her daughter to the start of the parade. It was a pretty busy morning but after I got Jazmin off it was fine. We walked to our spot to watch the parade and sat and chatted with friends. It's so nice that we live by the end of the parade route so I don't have to walk a forever to pick Jazmin up. Jazmin's dance company was at the end of the parade and she looked like she had a blast. She was jumping up and down and cheering it was cute. Mariah opted not to be in the parade because she wanted to catch candy. I take that back she wanted to be in the parade but with her cheer group and I told her they were walking. I don't think Mariah would have done well walking 3 miles. She decided to watch the parade instead. After the parade we set up the water slide and the girls had a blast. My family came down and we had a bbq and played cards. It was a good weekend.

I have signed up for a 10K race this Saturday at Bear Lake and I have also signed up for a 1/2 marathon. Well I have decided to run a 1/2 marathon I still need to sign up for it. I'm a little nervous to run a little over 13 miles but I think I can do it. My friend told me if I can run a 10K then I can run a 1/2 marathon. The marathon is the Provo Bridal Veils Marathon and it's Aug 8th. Soooo running for this marathon will keep me in shape throughout the summer so hopefully I won't get to tired of running, right.

It's going to be a fun summer for us so I will have to make sure I take lots of pictures and post them up.

Oh yea my sister in law had her baby boy Sunday afternoon. She named him Ian and I guess he is a little chunk. He weighted in at 9lbs 5oz and 20 inches long. We will get to see them this weekend.

I'm an addict

I'm addicted to the game bejeweled on facebook! I go on just about every night to my facebook profile just to play the addicting game. That's the only reason I go on facebook is to play bejeweled and to knock off the top player, who happens to be a neighbor. I am so competitive that I am determine to beat her 135,000 points or so. That was her score early this afternoon so I am not sure if it went up. I guess I should feel good because at least I am 2nd place and way ahead of Brandon :) I really do need to stop playing that game because I don't know if I will be able to handle going to be at midnight much longer. I tell you it's getting tiring and plus I feel like I will be getting carpel tunnel if I continue to play the madness that is bejeweled.

The girls had their recital on Saturday and it went great. I was extremely tired because I was at the school for 4 hours. The girls were in separate shows. That's the second year in a row that I've had to do two shows. I'm crossing fingers that next year they will be in the same show.

Summer at our house has officially started because school is out. I will be having little slave drivers for the next 2 months. The girls will be cleaning the house before they get to play. It's so nice to have older children that can participate in cleaning around the house. I will be having a little sweat factory over here, yes! Now I just hope I don't go mad with all the fighting that comes along with school being out. I think I need another vacation ASAP.
