Pulling the plug away

So I told myself that I was going to take Brock's pacifier away when he turns 18 months. I just don't him having a pacifier when he's 2 and I don't want his teeth to get all yucky. Well that time is finally here, he turns 18 months on Friday, and I am so not ready to do it. It's just so nice to plug him up when he gets whinny or he's throwing a huge fit. The scary thing that I'm not looking forward to is nap time and bed time. He always has his pacifier right by him and his bottle or sippy in hand. It's just getting to darn annoying trying to find the stupid thing. He throws it and I have no clue where they go. I am down to 1 out of 4. I was just going to snip the top of it, but since I can't find it I will just do it cold turkey that way. I actually did find it but he was taking a nap so I figured why try to give it to him the rest of the day. I'm scared because he didn't take a second nap, which is very common for him now, and he is sooooo tired and grumpy. I'm crossing my fingers that bed time will go smoothly and he totally forgets about binkie. I guess it's a good thing he doesn't talk yet because then he would be saying binkie all the time.
